A global insurance company is seeking an experienced Premium Auditor to perform phone audits in support of our growing book of Inland Marine business. This candidate will work in the Houston, Texas office with the Inland Marine and Premium Audit team. This is a 90 day temporary position that may result in a permanent position within the Premium Audit department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform 5-7 accurate and timely (85% or better) phone audits daily.
Effectively document and communicate audit findings as necessary with our underwriters, program administrators, and producers.
Respond to and resolve audit disputes and make appropriate changes to revise audits, as needed.
Utilize automated premium audit work management system, rating/billing policy exposures, mainframe systems and other tools to complete assignments in accordance with established procedures.
Meet or exceed all jurisdictional audit quality performance and data quality requirements.
Represent Everest Insurance during legal proceedings, as needed, testifying as the premium audit expert witness.
A minimum of 1-2 years of premium audit experience performed for other insurance carriers for any line of business. Additional insurance and/or phone audit experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Inland Marine audits and coverages, a plus.
Advanced Excel skills (e.g. V Look-ups, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas) to handle data and experience with reading and familiarity with various Financial Statements (P&L Statements, General Ledger, Vehicle Schedules, Cash Value Reports, etc.).
Demonstrates strong inter-personal skills to deal diplomatically, professionally and effectively with business partners, policyholders, and producers.
Good organizational skills & ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong, clear verbal customer service skills on phone and written communication to effectively type up audit reports.
Proficiency in Audit Inventory Management System software(s), Business Process software, and other MS Office Suite applications required.
