EDP RENEWABLES NORTH AMERICA Settlement Associate in HOUSTON, Texas

The Settlement Associate will provide settlement support to the operations group for assets in ongoing operations and ensure accurate processing of settlements, landowner payments, and various other activities to support the operational obligations of the company. Main accountabilities: Produce monthly invoices and reconcile settlement discrepancies with various ISOs and off-takers Generate landowner payments files with input from site staff Support the development of tools and processes to track obligations for the major contracts of an operating wind farm (e.g., PPA, Turbine O&M, Landowner, and Tax Equity) Prepare monthly accruals estimates for Accounting and provide support for any inquiries Prepare various ad-hoc requests for tax, accounting, and strategic planning Assist site staff to maintain and strengthen relationship with landowners, off-takers, ISOs, and various parties critical to the success of the companys operations Collaborate with accounting regarding A/R and A/P requests associated with settlements and landowner payments to ensure that they are processed in a timely manner Support the development of standard business processes at our operating plants to ensure workload is streamlined and simplified Interface with engineering, accounting, and development staff and other individuals internally and externally Additional duties as required Direct reports: 0 Travel: 0-10% Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree in an analytical field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software Behavioral requirements: Ability to perform duties in a collaborative working environment Ability to quantitatively analyze data derived from different software platforms, present results visually and qualitatively Persistence needed to follow through and achieve results Ability to apply EDPR NAs visions and values Statistical and analytical skills Problem-solving ability Oral and written communication and presentation skills Ability to be self-motivated Experience with SQL Server and database structures preferred Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary Travel Required Yes. 0-10% Qualifications Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Accounting.
