House of Blues Sr Accountant in Houston, Texas

Job Summary:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Approve Corporate invoices, wire transfer requests, and vendor maintenance requests

  • Review and approve monthly Corporate building rent invoices (current count at 14)

  • Record monthly recurring journal entries

  • Maintain debt issuance costs amortization schedules and record monthly journal entries

  • Record elimination entry for depreciation shared costs

  • Record journal entries for shared costs (rent and building operating costs, Corporate costs, IT/Tech, insurance, and depreciation)

  • Record P&L journal entries including accruals and prepaid amortizations,

  • Prepare various month end balance sheet support schedules and income statement variance analysis

  • Dotted line supervision of Accounting Assistant and Accounting Clerk

  • Assistance with internal and external audits

  • Other ad hoc requests or special projects from management

Skills & Qualities Desired:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Multi-task oriented

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong organization skills

Education & Knowledge Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • CPA certification a plus

  • 5+ years accounting experience

  • Proficient in MS Excel

  • Oracle and BPC experience a plus
