Job Purpose & Responsibilities As the home of unique offerings within SABIC, the Specialties Strategic Business Unit is focused on challenging technology endeavors that positively impact the way the world travels, communicates, works and lives. This SBU provides unique offerings such as high heat resins, functional compounds and additives, specialty fluids, nanotechnology and thermoplastics composites to industries such as Additive Manufacturing, Consumer & Industrial, Electronics, Healthcare, Mass Transportation, Automotive and Water Management.

Role Purpose:

The Value Pricing Leader is responsible for driving a mindset change within the Specialties business to document a detailed understanding of how our customers are economically better off for doing business with us versus our competition. This role will lead the business to understand the differentiated economic value we create for customers and price to capture a fair share of this value. This position will foster a common understanding of customer needs and the relationship between value and price across all functions of the company. They will develop globally consistent processes to capture more of the value we create in both the new and existing products and services we sell and the operational choices we make. The Value Pricing Leader is responsible for implementing and maintaining the tools needed for the success of Value Pricing, training the entire organization, and facilitating multiple value capture workshops. This role will ensure that Value Projects picked by Specialties Leadership will receive value-add coaching and work to improve continuously the process for developing Value Models, Price Modeling and Value Communication.

Major responsibilities include:

Drive a mindset change through the Specialties organization:

Inspire change in thought and behaviors for the business by coaching Value Projects and driving them to successful completion

Accountable for publishing approved value propositions which accurately represent how customers are economically better off for doing business with SABIC

Develop and execute an ongoing communication plan to foster robust understanding of the positive impacts of Value Culture for the Specialties business

Seek feedback for continuous improvement of the Value Pricing process

Train all market facing functions of the business on Value Pricing and its use:

Create and improve training content in all the aspects of Value Pricing: Value Modeling, Price Modeling, and Value Communications, taking into account the rich and diverse training audience with differences that range from cultural to personality

Lead Value Pricing training globally through all appropriate training methods, such as virtual training like BrainShark or face to face meetings with 50-60 participants

Operationalize the Value Pricing process:

Own the LeveragePoint Value Pricing tool and all processes and tools related to capturing the value we create for customers

Ensure the successful integration of Value Pricing into Price Guidelines by close collaboration with the Industry Pricing Leader and Team

Understand and improve use of the LeveragePoint system, which includes items such as measuring user usage, developing Specialties specific templates, working with the vendor to recommend system improvements and negotiate contract

Build a database of value drivers to enable improved value calculations

Develop and execute policy and governance for the Value Pricing process to ensure the highest possible quality and consistency for all value content

Mentor the Value Pricing analysts to be able to lead teams in all aspects of Value Pricing.

Bring new Strategic Pricing ideas and concepts to the business to further SABIC, Specialties toward a World Class Pricing organization resulting in incremental revenues and profits.

Requirements Education/Experience Requirements:

7+ years pricing experience with proven track record working in a heavily matrixed environment

Strong knowledge of pricing theory and the drivers of value based pricing

Proven ability to set, define and deliver a strategic vision

Ability to influence all levels within the organization, excellent communication skills

Strong financial and business acumen including knowledge of economic value drivers

Strong analytical and financial skills with a quantitative approach to problem solving

Demonstrated ability to drive change and mobilize resources in a complex environment

Proven skills in critical thinking and the ability to add value to operating teams

Strong ability to coach, energize and develop professionals

Proven ability to effectively work with colleagues in other regions

SAP/ERP system Experience
