Under direction of the Director of Internal Controls, the Manager IT Controls is responsible for the timely planning and execution of risk-based IT internal audits and SOX IT testing in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other audit matters and projects. The individual will be expected to perform these responsibilities as both team lead and individual contributor. The Manager IT Controls is assigned more complex projects and will lead and assist in training of other staff members. This individual will primarily lead and execute IT operational audits and IT SOX testing; as well as, perform tasks for business process audits using our integrated audit approach. Last, the Manager IT Controls will be responsible for managing the issues remediation process and activities for all previously identified issues (SOX, IA, and any other issues assigned to IA for research and remediation).
Conduct audit testing of specified areas based on identified risks, compliance with policies and procedures and safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards. (IA and SOX)
Oversee fieldwork, planning and reporting of audit assignments, and lead complex projects, as required. Assist in training the audit staff. (IA and SOX)
Establish risk-based audit programs, and conduct risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established/required timeline. (IA and SOX)
Make recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed and draft comprehensive and complete audit reports with confirmed issues, management action plans, due dates, and risk ratings. Communicate to executive management, follow-up on, and validate issue statuses. (IA and SOX)
Manage issues remediation activities including: monthly follow-up with stakeholders, tracking and documentation of all issues and current status, validation testing upon remediation, close-out of issues upon validation, dashboarding for presentation to Management, etc.
Work with outside auditors to address financial reporting risks and support the external auditing function.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS or other IT related field.
Six (6) or more years total experience in an IT related field with at least five (5) in an IT audit related role. Public accounting/auditing (Public Accounting / Consulting a plus) and/or industry experience is a plus.
One (1) year of management experience.
Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
CIA, CISA or CISSP preferred.
