Our location in Irving, TX , currently has an opportunity for Sr. Clinical Informatics Systems Analyst, Software Systems Engineering​

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Leads the solution assessment, definition, configuration, and development of core laboratory/hospital software solutions for designs of multiple intermediate and/or moderate complexity.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translates requirements into new solutions - Develops use cases, requirements, and specifications for new and existing system design.

  • Build and maintain TPM product and partner relationship - Evaluates and defines product changes with one or more TPMs to resolve customer issues and provide input on new functionality of complex projects that may cross multiple products. Leads and participates technical discussions with multiple TPMs. Builds and maintains relationships.

  • Performs Investigations - Leads investigations to determine root cause for high or moderately complex issues that may cross multiple products. Arrives at timely conclusions. Maintain high customer service by assisting support with customer issue resolution and coordinate inclusion of customer issue resolution with product/project patches and releases.

  • Solution configuration and documentation - Performs software installation and configuration, test laboratory workflows, creation and maintenance of business rules, verification of system and instrument interfaces. Generates input to service personnel.

  • Obtains customer feedback for new and/or improve products - Provides and gathers inputs from internal and external sources and from members of the project’s cross functional team to achieve customer needs. Solicits feedback to better understand unmet market needs for product improvements or new products from technology experts and from the commercial organization.

  • Anticipates and/or develops /applies risk mitigation - Evaluates technical risks and identifies alternatives, makes recommendations and takes appropriate actions. Reviews and provides input into risk management documentation including FMEA and risk analyses.

  • Maintains adherence to quality system - Follows functional area policies and procedures. Recommends improvements to policies and procedures.

  • Leads and mentors - Trains and mentors associate systems analysts and systems analysts in tools and processes.

Accountability/Scope:

  • Receives infrequent direction.

  • Completes complex assignments and provides work directions.

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Plans, leads and implements complex assignments.

  • Participates in hiring decisions for technical resources and provides feedback to the hiring manager.

  • Provides input on project activities.

  • Plans, organizes, executes and reviews activities.

  • Creates detailed plans for other systems analysts, reviews project activities and evaluates results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar discipline including Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Healthcare Informatics is preferred Requires strong analytical and communication skills as well as sound judgment and the ability to work effectively with internal team members, software developers, and customer. Very good oral and written communication skills Knowledge of HIS/LIS/LIMS is strongly preferred Education or experience in Medical technology or clinical laboratory science; ASCP; CLS (NCA) preferred. Experience with communication protocols (ASTM, HL7, XML) 4 years progressive work experience with degree or sufficient transferable experience to demonstrate functional equivalence to a degree.
