Zekelman Industries Plumber in Killeen, Texas
Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Plumber for our facility located in Killeen, TX. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position will perform various plumbing related duties throughout the plant.
Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of plumbing equipment components and to ensure proper installation
Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.
Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
Cut or drill holes in floors, walls, or roof to install equipment, using power saws or drills.
Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe or tubing, using pipe fitter's tools.
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools.
Engage in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.
Assemble, position, and mount heating or cooling equipment, following blueprints or manufacturer's specifications.
Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
Wrap pipes, securing insulation in place with cement or wire bands.
Assemble, install, and repair appliances and fixtures
Complete calculations and measurement to ensure function of equipment and systems correctly
Follow all established safety procedures
Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate for the Plumber position will possess a High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of experience in Plumbing.
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
Must be able to lift 60lbs.
Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment
