Summary of Position
This job provides management for the KNCT Engineering Department and technical support of the KNCT broadcast facility and the Central Texas College Telecommunications department.
Minimum Required Education
Associate Degree from a regionally, nationally or identified at the state level accredited institution with an emphasis in electronics is required.
Minimum Required Experience
Three years full time wage earning experience with installation, repair and configuration of broadcast audio systems required. One year Supervisor/Management experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The candidate should be familiar with FCC rules and regulations pertaining to a broadcast facility. The candidate is also required to prepare, and maintain engineering department budget. This position requires a demonstrated capability in the installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of typical broadcast equipment to include: FM transmission and control room equipment, microwave STL, Audio and video equipment used for Academic instruction. Candidate should be capable of component level troubleshooting of analog and digital electronics and proficient in the use and configuration of computers and computer networks. Responsible for the technical operation and signal quality of the KNCT-FM transmitters. Responsible for consulting with the KNCT-FM station manager concerning technical and regulatory matters of the stations. Ensuring that the Central Texas College Broadcast facilities are operated and in compliance thereof. Responsible for preventive maintenance program for KNCT-FM, to include; maintenance schedules, spare parts lists, materials requisitions, work schedules, systems records drawings, operation budget recommendations. Works directly in the operation and diagnostic maintenance of all broadcast, educational, and all allied peripheral equipment to include equipment used in academic instruction. Works closely with other station Department Heads to assure good working relationships among departments. Works directly with the Station Manager in developing long range technical planning assure timely response to technical failures.
Salary 1K per Exempt Pay scale
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - 7:30am-5:30pm Mon-Thur.7:30am-11:30am Fridays., Other - nights,weekends,holidays when needed.

Ability to work effectively with the public, students, and broadcast professionals. A knowledge of proper electrical, broadcast engineering, and installation practices. A thorough knowledge is required of the necessary electronic test equipment and the use thereof. Experience is required in developing operational and maintenance procedures, preparation of fiscal planning (budget), development of equipment spare parts lists, inventory and personnel supervision. Ability to organize complex engineering tasks. Dedication to a strong preventative maintenance program. Ability to perform other typical station duties as may be assigned by the General Manager.
