St. Joseph Health EMT PARAMEDIC - FullTime/Day(12hr shift/ED Milwaukee) in Lubbock, Texas

Job Summary:

The paramedic is responsible for the delivery of quality care for ill or injured patients under varied conditions in collaboration with EMT-Basic to EMT-Paramedic. The

paramedic must be highly motivated and able to function using assessment skills and written standards when physician contact is not possible. Must also be able to participate

in Covenant Ambulance Service committees, public relations, and outreach education.

Essential Functions:

Must perform rapid assessment and formulate plan of care to be used during interfacility transports for optimum patient outcome.

Must give direct patient care during transport.

Must perform rapid patient assessment to identify and treat life threatening processes during interfacility transports.

Must understand and be able to perform special procedures (i.e., defibrillation/cardioversion, external pacing, and mechanical ventilation).

Must accurately interpret ECG’s and pertinent lab values and provide care according to findings.

Must communicate pertinent patient information to receiving facility personnel and physicians.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate. Successful completion of Texas Department of State Health Services approved Paramedic training program.

Experience: Minimum of one year experience with a non-emergency transport service is preferred


License/Certification: Texas State EMT-P certification, BLS, ACLS, BTLS or PHTLS provider certification.
