TTU Research Aide
Performs specialized work in conducting original research. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

May supervise research and student assistants.
Survey and identify pinyon-juniper community birds by sight and sound.
Conduct surveys for woodland nesting birds.
Collect site location metrics.
Conduct vegetation inventories at sample sites.
Enter data into an electronic database.
Minimum Hire Rate:
Knowledge as to how to identify bird species by sight and sound and learn the bird species of the area.
Knowledge as to how to conduct field vegetation metrics.
Ability to collect and record data accurately.
Ability to hike over semi-rugged terrain.
Possess a driver's license.
Know how to drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
Overground navigation with compass and map.
Demonstrated record of reliability and strong worth ethic.
Demonstrated interest in field ecology/wildlife management and a willingness to learn.

Bachelor's degree particular field of science or engineering, One year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
