Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for quarterly emissions testing of the Company’s owned and operated units as well as third party testing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedules, performs, and distributes most complex emissions analyses in accordance to protocols set forth by Local, State, Federal EPA Authorities and Company Analysis Department requirements. In association with Emission Analysis notes all maintenance, operations, or other factors that could adversely affect Safety, OPEX, CAPEX, availability, and/or reliability of the equipment and reports to Operations and Operations Support Manager

  • Maintains emissions analysis equipment in good working order as per OEM. Maintains AFR’s in working order on all company equipment, reports faulty controllers to Operations Supervisors and Analyzer Technician Supervisor

  • Participates in the introduction, testing, and utilization of new technologies research and in the implementation of new technologies such as improved and lower cost Air/Fuel Management System and Testing Equipment

  • Communicates with Supervisor and appropriate operations personnel to ensure that all new start-up pre-load and load set up requirements meet OEM and Company specifications. Any specific or special requirements should be communicated to operations in writing

  • Follows and assists with implementation of QHSE guidelines, operating budget, and communicates with the appropriate people to ensure analysis is properly utilized. Improves efficiency of the department, communications, and utilization. Position is expected to set a positive example in relationship to HSE

  • Maintains and Operates company vehicle in accordance to corporate and department policies. Vehicle and equipment must be operated in an economical and efficient manner

  • Properly fills out and distributes reports as defined by the Analyzer Supervisor and Operation Support Manager

  • Performs most complex emissions analysis per site requirements, operations, or third party, on a planned or emergency basis. Completes reporting on a per job basis in a timely, professional manner

  • Travel requirements may vary depending on geographical area, Company and/or customer needs. Emissions Technician must be willing to travel on short notice and remain at appropriate location until job is completed or is released to return home

  • Trains and promotes proper maintenance practices to operations and customer personnel as needed

  • Tracks all billable items, including labor and materials, and ensures that proper charges are billed to the customer

Required Skills or Tools:

  • Must have good electrical and mechanical aptitude

  • Computer – Microsoft Excel, Word

  • Report writing (basic)

  • Moderate understanding of engine maintenance and combustion

  • Must be able to provide own tools up to 1 1/4".

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School degree

  • Three to five years of associated mechanical experience and aptitude with engine and compressors.

Physical Strain:

  • Some travel required

  • Must be able to work under pressure

  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department

  • Lifting up to 45 pounds
