The Hydrocarbons Business has an opening for aProduction Engineerlocated at theOyster Creek, TXLHC-9 facility. LHC-9 is a $2.2B world scale ethane cracker that began operation in 2017 with expansion construction underway to be the world’s largest ethylene production facility with 2000 KTA capacity. The LHC-9 team has a culture of ownership and teamwork to effectively solve issues in a timely manner and maintain a high standard of operational excellence. - Core Responsibilities: *
The Production Engineering role serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, high quality ethylene.
Demonstrate competency and champion adherence to Life Critical Standards and Procedure Use by conducting field audits.
Develop expertise on Process Safety risks in the facility and ensure all layers of protection are functioning as designed in area of responsibility.
Understand broad process technology, equipment and control technology. Works with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations to meet Business and plant goals. (Environmental, Health & Safety, Production, cost, quality, energy, reliability).
Participate in advanced trouble shooting and coach others to learn these skills.
Lead Root Cause Investigation for Unplanned Events in area of responsibility and ensure corrective/ preventive actions are implemented for continuous improvement.
Provide high level leadership and direction in the day to day decision making for the operation of the plant.
Interface with key site partners (Power 8, LHC-8, PDH, and LHC-7) and within the business Technology Center to leverage knowledge on plant operations
Implement best practices in operations in order to optimize operations. Ensures Most Effective Technology (MET), and specific Operating Discipline requirements are in place.
Provide Continuous Improvement Methodology and technical/manufacturing representation support to projects
Understand and apply reliability principles: Deference to Expertise, Sensitivity to Operations, Reluctance to Simplify, Preoccupation with Failure and Resilience to promote the development of a Highly Reliable Organization
Work with Plant Process Control & Optimization Engineers to ensure process control is optimized in the facility by ensuring alarms are set appropriately and instrumentation is functioning per design intent.
Support plant roles in procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates and approvals when assigned.
As required communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers.
Leverage skills and knowledge to maximize plant asset utilization and produce low cost, high quality ethylene.
Initiates change to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. Works with Production Technicians to achieve this objective.
Maintain, own and review plant operating trends daily to ensure optimum performance is sustained
Job Information and working condition
The job has a standard 5 day per week work or Alternate Friday off schedule, however the need for technical support after hours could include support through extended duration events (start-ups, shutdowns, turnarounds, hurricane support, etc.).
This role will require leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills.
Must have a drive to achieve results and a bias for action.
Required Qualifications: *
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications: *
Hydrocarbons or Similar Technology (distillation and refrigeration) experience
Production Engineer experience
