Cabot Corporation Maintenance Mechanic in Pampa, Texas
Inspects, repairs, overhauls, installs, troubleshoots, adjusts and maintains mechanical equipent and machinery such as engines, compressors, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps and other mechanical equipment. Mechanics also perform preventative maintenance including equipment inspecition, testing, lucrication, condition monitoring and other maintenance functions while maintaining the highest regard for safety, quality and the environment.
Inspects, installs, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs mechanical equipment and facilities. Works from specifications and complex drawings, manuals, verbal/written instructions. Assembles and disassembles equipment to isolate and diagnose problems. Corrects equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing defective parts. Performs daily equipment lubrication and conditioning monitoring tasks.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools, such as cut-off saws, drill presses, milling machines and others.
Uses business management system to enter work orders and requisitions. Maintains accurate repair records/reports and tracks spare parts usage to maintain inventory levels.
Performs equipment inspections, preventative maintenance and documentation as prescribed by the established inspection and PM schedules.
Maintains and continuously improves upon knowledge of all processes and equipment within their respective unit(s). May recommend basic changes to mechanical equipment and systems.
Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
May perform light welding or simple machining as part of maintenance activities.
Keeps working area safe and clean and utilizes 5S process as part of regular housekeeping.
Observes mechanical devices in operation, uses condition monitoring tools to diagnose problems and predict performance while striving to remove sources of failure from equipment. Follows company best practices, good engineering practices, industry codes and standards while installing, maintaining and repairing equipment.
Maintains craft specific training and certifications as required.
Responds to call-outs and overtime when required.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Trade school training or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience as a Rotating Equipment Mechanic with craft specific certifications in alignment and balancing is preferred.
