Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure site PSM and RMP related programs/processes meet regulatory and corporate requirements.

  • Support employee involvement in process safety processes.

  • Develop and maintain written PSM/RMP programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Participate in MOC Hazard Evaluations, PSSRs, Compliance Audits and PHAs.

  • Provide process safety related training.

  • Evaluate MOC/Project work which impact or potentially impacts to PRDs, PHAs, IPLs, etc.

  • Conduct audits to ensure site activities/conditions/processes are consistent with CPChem policies/procedures.

  • Provide Turnaround/Outage support and actively participate as a member of Turnaround Core Team.

  • Lead and/or participate in Incident and Technical Investigations (i.e. TOP, RCA, 5 WHY).

  • Provide support regarding process safety/risk management programs, issues and concerns.

  • Perform any other process safety related work as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering, preferred.

  • Minimum of three years process safety related experience in a refinery, chemical or petrochemical facility.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and superior written/verbal communication skills are required.

  • Capability to lead by example and develop team members to be positive, impactful employees.
