The *Office Clerk *must be accurate in all record keeping and he should be familiar with basic office procedures. Good communication and phone skills, including the ability to listen and follow directions are important to the job.

_Primary Responsibilities_

  • Check and answer emails from carriers, vendors, buyers and stores

  • Research and trouble shoot product issues

  • Resolve issues with vendors/carriers about overflows, freight not fitting in trailer

  • Answer questions from vendors about routing/exemption codes. Update exemption log

  • Manages appointment Log for Distribution Center email carriers to confirm appointments for next day

  • Edit appointment log with any changes

  • Send DC appointment log to receiving & Managers daily

  • Follow up with any no shows/late or resets

Inbound Loads

  • Check the TMS portal daily (every 2 hours)

  • Consolidate loads

  • Update DC appointment log as loads are tendered

  • Check emails from the DC advising us of any no shows or late deliveries

  • Check with carriers, advise the DC of the new delivery date and change the date on the tms portal

Outbound Loads

  • Make the bill of lading (BOL) for the Outbound shipment

  • Resolve issues with empties needed at DC

  • Send Store Delivery Report to stores and managers daily

  • Answer emails from stores & reset with carriers

  • Check the portal for no shows or late deliveries

Special Requests

  • Picking up IT equipment, signs, fixtures, cash wraps, ladders, etc

  • Ability to learn new systems, process and transportation methodology

  • High sense of urgency

  • Ability to work with limited direction and as a team member

  • Strong organization and planning skills

  • Ability to comprehend and enforce company programs, policies and procedures

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • At least 6 months of Data Entry experience

  • Basic math aptitude and problem solving skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
