The Senior Manager, Business Analytics is responsible for leading all sales and business analysis activities to drive cross category growth initiatives for unlocked and strategic accounts. Key responsibilities of this role includes, leading and enabling informed decision making through holistic and thoughtful analytics. Identifying revenue and profit generating opportunities by collaborating with sales, product and channel marketing teams. Driving optimization through an informed and consultative approach in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment. Reporting to the Director – Strategy and Category Management, the person in this role will support the department's objective.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead sales analytics and reporting by analyzing Total Addressable Market (TAM) and estimating market share for strategic customer accounts. Advise leadership about gaps and opportunities to enable data-driven decision making
Establish deep knowledge base for industry, competitive trends and provide thought leadership by analyzing channel, consumer, and marketplace dynamics for cable operators, national and regional strategic accounts
Analyze sales promotions for effectiveness (attainment of program objectives) and efficiency (cost optimization) and provide insights and recommendations to executive level management
Manage scenario planning and analysis for quarterly sales and business planning initiatives for setting cross-segment revenue growth strategy
Provide leadership in developing best practices for consistent weekly and monthly reporting of key KPIs across customers/channels. Consolidate intra-department reporting by finding synergies within reporting efforts and analytics
Lead team efforts to build and automate management dashboards and other reporting tools that can be utilized across the Sales organization, shared with other departments as well as the Management team
Lead strategic and ad hoc analytics initiatives to better understand customer/channel behavior
Establish and maintain strong market sensing partnerships with syndicated market research organizations such as Strategy Analytics, IDC, NPD, Baystreet Research etc.
Become established as a recognized subject matter expert for analytics and serve as a resource to the business, facilitating knowledge transfer and overseeing proper application of continuous improvement methodology and tools
Demonstrate end-to-end process perspective, providing data collection, analysis and thorough documentation of processes
Collaborate with a large and diverse team in the areas of technical, interpersonal, and financial acumen.
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics from a Top Tier institution; MBA highly preferred
12 or more years’ experience performing strategy and data analytics in top tier Investment banks or consulting firms
Expert level abilities in using Microsoft Excel, VBA and Tableau
Strong financial acumen, data visualization, statistics and analytics experience
Ability to influence strategies and make decisions using a data driven approach
Ability to use a structured problem solving approach in an ambiguous situation
Plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Ability to synthesize complex business information and make professional business presentations. Excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to establish and develop data models, scenario based analysis and other deep analytical approaches to solve business and sales problems
Ability to work in a team environment, working against individual and shared objectives
Ability to accept tasks and work to resolve problems, when only broad and general guidelines exist

Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed.
Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels.
Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.
The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, based on sometime vaguely defined objectives.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:
The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.
Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress.
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas.
Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
