Directly supervises the assistant case manager coordinator and general clerk I. Responsible for the supervision of case management responsibilities in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) directives. Essential Functions:1. Coordinate with department heads and administrative staff on case management issues. 2. Develops and implements facility policy and procedures pertaining to management topics.3. Provide technical assistance and serve as a resource for the facility and Bureau of Prisons staff on case management issues.4. Supervise, select, and train all staff assigned to the case management and count room areas. 5. Serve as a coordinator for the U.S. Parole Commission, U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, and the Federal Courts. 6. Administer, manage, and control the inmate release process at the facility. Coordinate with and obtain Bureau of Prisons approval for all inmate releases. 7. Serve as the administrator of the central inmate monitoring system (CIMS) program at the facility. Provide for staff training on the CIMS programs. 8. Maintain quality control for all documentation and official correspondence prepared by case management staff that requires the signature and approval by the warden.9. Monitor the inmate classification process at the facility, ensuring that applicable policy and procedures are followed. 10. Monitor the victim/witness notification and the financial responsibility programs to ensure compliance in these areas. Serves as the facility coordinator of these areas as well. 11. Serve as the facility liaison and coordinator of activities involving the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) Department. 12. Assign inmate work and housing assignments at the facility level. 13. Advise and assist the administration with inmate population management concerns. Ensure appropriate security level inmates are assigned to the facility. Initiate inmate transfer requests to the Bureau of Prisons officials, in the event that assigned inmates do not meet security level criteria. Inform facility administration of local and national inmate population concerns. 14. Serve as the Chairman or as a member of the Unit Discipline Committee (UDC) and as a member of the Inmate Work and Performance Pay Program Committee. 15. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. 16. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management. Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social services, or human services, and five (5) years related experience required, one (1) of which must be in a supervisory capacity. United States citizenship required. Valid driver's license in the State of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
