Job Description

The Senior Analyst is responsible for assessing small to medium projects for the applicability of enterprise services, and for delivering high quality estimates, design and project deliveries.

The Senior Analyst works on one or more projects at all stages of the system lifecycle (define, design, and build). He/she will serve as an integral partner, guiding application teams to comply with CVS Health road maps & standards and to realize the benefits of services architecture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own delivery of service-based architecture for assigned projects, providing end-to-end solution and design details

  • Provide estimates to Demand Management process, consistently meeting or exceeding estimate quality metrics

  • Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation

  • Ensure services meet functional requirements(FR) and non-functional performance characteristics (NFR)

  • Maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and service solution patterns

  • Collaborate with project team to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead for bringing projects to fruition

  • Drive adherence to enterprise architecture strategies, principals, standards, policies and procedures

  • Provide consultation to application owners, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range architecture service solutions to meet business imperatives

  • Actively facilitate complex design and technical discussions, reconciling differing opinions and drive decision making process

  • Recommend solutions and develop business case alternatives which anticipate the future direction of the business, its drivers and technology strategy

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring throughout the project lifecycle

  • Proactively identify reuse opportunities

  • Articulate the tradeoffs, benefits and risks of all architecture and design solutions

  • Understand and ensure compliance with the SDLC project management governance and IT strategy

  • Analyze and lead and/or advise on incident management swat team activity. Diagnose problems, determine solution options with consideration to business impact

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of IT experience in application development

  • Experience in Java, JEE, Design Patterns, Object-Oriented design, Algorithms and Optimizations

  • Experience in application development using Java Spring/Spring Boot or equivalent framework

  • Experience in integration layer development: RESTful APIs/Web Services/JMS

  • Experience in Linux/Unix

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in DataPower and API Connect

  • Experienced with API design

  • Experience building and consuming Micro Services

  • Experience with Git, Subversion, Jenkins, Spring Cloud, and Docker

  • Exposure in MEAN stack ( MongoDB, Express, Angular JS, NodeJS)

  • Exposure to cloud architectures

  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems using message queues, TPMs, or other related technologies in a mobile/portal environment

  • Experience om data architecture concepts and governance, including acting as a design authority for information and data within projects and programs is critical for this role

  • Mastery of design considerations for high volume transaction systems

  • Knowledge of Portals/Intranet and mobile computing highly desirable

  • Ability to multi-task and rapid context switch between Applications, programs and architecture initiatives

  • Ability to assess the impact of architecture changes on the business, application relationships and information flow

  • Strong understanding of SDLC - must have participated on many projects through complete lifecycles (requirements, design, development, testing, launch)

  • Strong ability to facilitate collaboration among technical team members

  • Strong organizational, leadership and consensus building skills; ability to motivate and lead teams in matrix organization

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with all levels

  • A strong base of experience in many disciplines of information technology, including operating systems, systems

management and development tools, application program interfaces (APIs), database management systems, development methodologies, transaction processing monitors, messaging software, security, directory services, hardware, telecommunications, interoperability techniques and standards, services monitoring and alerting

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Masters in Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
