Working closely with customers in the initial design phase to assist in defining specifications; develop innovative, leading-edge GaN and GaAs-based Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs); act in a leadership role working with multi-discipline Engineering teams across business units to solve the most challenging problems; support business development in capturing new internal and external business to include customer presentations and interactions, serve as subject matter expert for MMIC Engineering to both internal and external customers and technical staff; familiarity with RF systems architectures and products to identify MMIC insertion opportunities; act as technical contact between production and engineering; support bid and proposal efforts, customer interface and new product development; design architecture for highly-integrated MMICs and/or modules, proposal writing, develop budgets and schedules; hold design reviews for multiple programs; apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle.
Customer focused; assist customers to understand trade-offs to assist in defining MMIC specifications
Understanding of performance trade-offs relating to down-selecting: foundry & process technology, circuit topologies, FET peripheries, and architectures.
Reviewing customer requirements and functional block diagrams looking for MMIC insertion opportunities
Project manage design activities for MMIC and multi-chip module products including cost, schedule, and technical.
Project manage internal and customer funded research and development projects.
Proficient in the use of RF simulation tools to perform necessary modeling such as linear, non-linear, and EM
Perform necessary analysis such as cascade chain analysis, stability analysis, yield analysis, DC budgets, as part of the design flow methodology.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Develops new technology and provides inputs to the technology and product roadmaps.
Design and lead MMIC packaging efforts.
Mentors and teaches other MMIC designers as appropriate.
Experience in measurements performed to characterize MMICs
Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
Support Business Development team in the proposal writing process
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent relative experience.
Fifteen (15) or more years of design experience in advanced compound semiconductor technologies such as GaN, and/or GaAs.
Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in performing trade-offs in technology selection, circuit topologies, affordability, reliability and other considerations within the different categories of MMICs to include power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, phase shifter or attenuator MMICs and/or hybrid-based components.
Experience working with business development team to establish and capture of new business opportunities.
Expert understanding of FET theory and characteristics.
Proficient user of microwave and EM simulation tools such as NI AWR Microwave Office or ADS required.
Expert understanding of microwave measurements and calibration methods: S-parameters, power, efficiency, source/load pull, noise figure, linearity and intermodulation distortion.
Time Management & Organizational skills: adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to focus on task at hand and meet expected time completion (ETC); ability to keep an organized work station and materials.

Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or PhD in EE preferred or equivalent experience.
Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in advanced compound semiconductor technologies such as GaN, and/or GaAs. Experience with other technologies such as SiGe , InP, etc. a plus Broad range of MMIC design experience, active and passive, a plus (Low-noise amplifiers, distributed amplifiers, power amplifiers, control products, packaging experience, Doherty, linearization techniques, etc.)
RF system knowledge.
DOD work experience.
