FORT BEND COUNTY Administrative Assistant - County Judge in RICHMOND, Texas

JOB SUMMARY: Supports the daily activities of the County Judge s Office to ensure an efficient and productive department workflow. Provides customer services among other county departments, the general public and with county vendors as needed. Participates in daily tasks such as payroll, office supply inventory, annual office inventory, work order requests, room reservations and other routine office tasks. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Requisitions supplies through County purchasing system and maintains department inventory. Screens incoming calls and provides administrative support to the department, greets and directs visitors. Responsible for departmental payroll timekeeping. Maintains scheduling for conference room and processes outgoing and incoming mail. Provides support in maintaining department records and files as per established Records Management Guidelines. Coordinates general office needs by reporting needed repairs and coordinate services with IT and Facilities. Researches and schedules department travel arrangements for training, follows County Purchasing Guidelines and creates expenses reports as needed. Understands agenda process and provides support as needed. Provides administrative and clerical support including typing, filing, review and creation of correspondence. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED; Three years general office experience. Strong computer and typing skills. Strong reading, reasoning and comprehension skills as well as good verbal and written communication and organization skills. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, elected officials and other employees. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking and writing) preferred. SALARY RANGE: Administrative/Clerical Grade 9, $1,409.60 - $1,656.80 biweekly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
