OakBend Medical Center Medical Assistant - Full Time - Days in Richmond, Texas
Under the direct/indirect supervision of Quality Manager and the Infection Control Practitioner, the Medical Assistant provides a variety care activities of patient, staff, physician and community members vaccination and accommodative services. Activities assigned will be commensurate with competence and will be increased accordingly. The medical assistant will perform office/clerical duties such as answering phones, checking patients in, scheduling, and verifying insurance or obtaining insurance authorizations. Clinical duties will include taking vital signs, preparing instruments, changing dressings, and assisting with patient treatments.
High school diploma or equivalent.
MIMIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
One year previous medical assistant or other approved healthcare experience required.
Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. Medical assistant certification preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Must have basic computer skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, have the ability to multi-task, and exhibit a positive attitude.
Includes working rotational shifts, holiday, and every other weekend. May be required to participate in “on call” basis staffing. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to rotate days off without pay or utilize skills within the hospital.
