Summary:

As an Engineering Technologist in Integrated Solutions and Ecosystems CTO team you will be conducting research on new Data Analytics and AI technologies to set Dell’s technology direction for next generation solutions. Primary responsibilities for this position include performing technology assessments, conducting proof of concept studies on new technologies, working with technology partners and customers on joint innovation and developing a technology point of view for the company. This role will focus mainly on middleware, software framework and hardware accelerators for Analytics, AI and other emerging workloads. This requires a strong understanding of systems architecture including processor, networking and storage as well as software tools to manage the infrastructure. You will be working in the ISG CTO organization and get to experience bleeding edge technologies with an opportunity to influence technology direction for the company and the industry.

What you’ll achieve

As a Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain a forward-looking view and monitor developments in technology landscape for AI and Data Analytics.

  • Perform POCs and evaluations of new hardware and software targeted towards AI and Data Analytics markets. Assess benefits, limitations and create Dell’s point of view (POV) on new developments

  • Inform and influence product groups in adoption of new technologies. Help set roadmap direction for AI and Data Analytics solutions

Principal Engineering Technologist will:

  • Inform and influence product groups in adoption of new technologies. Help set roadmap direction for AI and Data Analytics solutions

  • Benchmark applications and micro-kernels on new processor architectures, accelerators, storage technologies, etc

  • Propose and lead technology incubation projects that create differentiation and add value to Dell’s solutions

  • Represent Dell in technology conferences, customer briefings and other venues to discuss technology direction

  • Work with sales teams on high complexity opportunities to provide technical guidance on system design

Contribute to IP creation via patents, technical conference publications, participation in research activities

Essential Requirements:

  • MS/PhD in CS/CE/EE, at least 10 years of experience in product development or technology incubation for AI and Data Analytics

  • Strong understanding of Linux OS

  • Strong understanding of processor architecture and domain specific accelerators (GPUs, FPGAs, AI Accelerators)

  • System level design expertise including working with networking and storage technologies

Desirable Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of software tools and middleware used in AI and Data Analytics including but not limited to Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.

  • Domain expertise preferred in one of more vertical including but not limited to: Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.
