Description

  • Direct the workforce by providing a daily schedule for the Sanitation Department and any other duties assigned by management.

  • Maintain program of inventorying and ordering cleaning chemicals, inspecting cleaning equipment and replacement parts through scheduled food safety preventive maintenance.

  • Develop and implement training and cross training programs for Sanitation Department employees.

  • Conduct routine daily post cleaning inspections and microbiological sampling. Review Sanitation records, CIP charts, CIP flow rates and chemical concentrations for accuracy.

  • Conduct and document monthly meetings on subjects such as, safety, good housekeeping and Company policy. Occasionally weekly tailgate meets should be used as follow up to the monthly meetings.

  • Develop and monitor the Sanitation Department labor & supply budget.

  • Enforce Company Policy on Attendance, Company Rules, Safety Rules, Job Description and Sanitation Department requirements.

  • Evaluate and update the Sanitation Department procedure manual and Master Sanitation Schedule to reflect changes in equipment design, new equipment, or changes in the cleaning process. Conduct training to reflect changes.

  • Evaluate cost effectiveness of Chemical Supplier programs. Other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for assuring compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in food plants Sanitation and food safety, prefer 4 years sanitation experience.

  • 1+ year of leadership experience (lead experience included)

  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred

  • Knowledge in C.I.P. & C.O.P. cleaning techniques.

  • Must be mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot problems mechanically and physically.

  • Experience in leading employees and communicating effectively in order to achieve company goals.

  • Ability to positively motivate people and discipline when necessary.

  • Supervisor must maintain communication, feedback, and documentation with employees to assure that they are aware of their expectations and accountability of their actions, and their attendance
