Daybreak Venture Area Rehab Manager - Full-Time in San Antonio, Texas

Seeking Area Manager of Rehabilitation to cover 4-6 SNF's in the San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Position Summary:

Assists in directing the daily operations of the rehabilitation departments. Monitors and assists with directing the operational, clinical, and fiscal activities of the rehabilitation department. Treats caseload 40-50% of the time.

Essential Functions:

Incumbent(s)

Establishes a regular schedule for meeting and communicating with each assigned rehabilitation department and routinely visits each site. The Area Manager maintains a patient caseload of 20-50% of total hours worked. Utilizes established systems for reviewing and improving operational and clinical performance of the rehabilitation department. Provides follow up and action plans on improvement initiatives. Reviews, analyzes, and reports operational data. Attends and participates in regional meetings as needed. Communicates with staff on new initiatives, policies, programs, and procedures. Directs the management of rehabilitation staffing and scheduling of patients for each department. Includes resident screening, assignment of patients, review of treatment outcomes, and assurance of efficiency requirements and implementation of clinical programs. Routinely communicates with Regional Therapy Manager on operational and clinical initiatives. Promotes communication between rehabilitation staff and facility staff. Monitors rehabilitation systems for quality improvement and compliance with federal and regulatory guidelines. Routinely utilizes established systems to review therapist’s documentation practices for clarity, conciseness, consistency, and appropriateness. Monitors the efficient utilization of rehabilitation services. Assists in overseeing program development activities. Provides direct assistance to the rehabilitation department with denial management. Routinely monitors revenue and expenses of each assigned rehabilitation department. Initiates appropriate actions in order to assure that budgetary goals are met. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care reimbursement. Provides support for facility marketing activities. Has a mastery of Casamba Therapy software. Direct employment of plans of action and ensure good outcomes of deficiencies noted in routine and investigative compliance audits. Responsible for the review and analysis of facility case mix and contribution margin. Ensure strong customer relations within assigned facilities. Plan and facilitate delivery of facility staff in- services or other educational programs. Identify open position and train staff (as required) on corporate initiatives. Recommend staff for recognition. Monitor and accomplish area-specific employee retention objectives within assigned facilities. Implement ongoing documentation peer review system within assigned facilities. Create and analyze all standard weekly and monthly reporting. Conduct interviews for therapy candidates and implement disciplinary action when appropriate. Maintain compliance with Daybreak’s Compliance program and plan. Requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or current state licensure or certification in a professional healthcare discipline. 3 or more years experience in a long term care setting is preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Functional literacy in English is required. Supervisory experience is desirable.
