Zachry Hospitality Embassy Suites Landmark - Housekeeping Inspector (Part-Time) in San Antonio, Texas
The Housekeeping Inspector’s responsibilities include inspecting rooms/suites to ensure rooms/suites and public areas are cleaned and comply with hotel standards. Visually inspects room/suites.
Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance. Prepares work orders to clean carpets and documents room and hotel discrepancies.
Inspects rooms, completes reports, verifies status reports; reports clean suites to hotel front desk and/or load into automated property management systems
Provides organization, instruction, guidance, and communication, as well as exercise good judgment, while reinforcing the hotels high standards of quality.
Completes work orders as needed when inspecting rooms
Performs a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
Ensures all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Ensures all jobs are completed within the shift. Prepares room status report.
Take requested inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies. Ensures both carts and linen/supply closets are kept clean, neat, and stocked according to departmental guidelines. Upon inspection of VIP room, make certain all VIP supplies are in place.
Reports all emergencies (i.e. overflowing toilets or broken pipes in bathrooms, lights out in bathroom, closets, maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors via work orders. Reports telephone deficiencies considered or corridors, broken mirror or window) to the maintenance department.
Expedites special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets, or pillows.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climbs stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment.
Ability to listen, and communicate effectively.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions as assigned by supervising management.
Basic ability to comprehend (verbal and written) English language sufficient to understand and communicate information to include safety and security procedures.
Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to guests and team members.
Ability to lift equipment, supplies or furniture weighing up to 50 lbs.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Ability to push/pull cart/ table weighing up to 150 lbs.;
Ability to grasp, lift to waist and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms over head to perform cleaning tasks.
Ability to work in confined spaces and while on balcony at varying heights.

Physically able to move and / or operate large objects, such as: maid’s carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
