JOB DESCRIPTION

Propel Prefab and Manufacturingis seeking to hire an experiencedEstimator/Project Managerfor small construction and miscellaneous projects. This position is expected to work alongside other members of our team to develop bid proposals, to provide support with the preconstruction phase of each project, to prepare job budgets, to assist with value engineering for ongoing projects and to oversee the total success of awarded projects. TheEstimator/Project Manageris integral to our continued success in providing quality product and service while developing, maintaining and growing client relationships from project inception to completion.

ThePrefab Estimator/ Project Manager will: 

  • Review & understand construction documents, miscellaneous metals plans, specifications and scope of work to develop competitive bids.

  • Receive and review RFQs/Bid Invitations from potential clients; select appropriate projects to provide proposals for based on our company capabilities

  • Clarify and review potential problem areas

  • Execute bid takeoff and material pricing estimates

  • Working knowledge of welding & fabrication processes

  • General knowledge of cleaning, painting and other finish requirements associated with exposed steel (i.e.; galvanize)

  • Manage awarded projects from time of award to completed punch list

  • Possess a general understanding of miscellaneous metals erection phases, time units for various erection phases, requirements for crane size and other necessary on-site lift equipment

  • Bid follow up/Change orders

  • Contractor/Vendor relations

Qualifications

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED 

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 plus years of structural/miscellaneous metals estimating or structural shop fabrication and/or steel erecting experience 

  • Construction - 2 years (required)

  • Project Management - 2 years (preferred)

  • Estimating - 2 years (Preferred)

  • Welding Project Estimating a plus

  • Fencing Project Estimatig a  plus

  • ​​​​​​​Must have the ability to read and understand architectural, structural drawings and the application of regional building codes related to miscellaneous metals

  • Basic math and technical writing skills required

  • Excellent communication both oral and written, strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking and time management skills required.

  • Proficient computer skills; MSOffice including Excel required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with all levels of the organization, customers and vendors

  • Must be able to pass a drug and background screen

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask while staying organized

  • Self-Motivated
