Zachry Hospitality Transportation Attendant (On-Call/Flexible Shifts) Hilton Palacio Hotel in San Antonio, Texas

Job Purpose:

To transport guests in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner using safe driving practices. The Transportation Attendant will oversee our guests experience by providing courteous and professional service during their entire stay. Will provide advice, directions, luggage assistance and opening/ closing doors for all guest arrivals/departures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greets guests immediately with warm hospitable welcome using a clear and courteous speaking voice; retrieves guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts. Grasps, lifts, carries and/or loads luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items inside the hotel and introduces them to the Guest Service Agent.

  • Responds immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services, and assistance. Provide clear and understandable direction to hotel facilities, restaurants, and lounges and nearby attractions.

  • Initiates request to taxi cab companies upon request by phone or curbside.

  • Clearly communicates the features, and services of the hotel facilities.

  • Dispatches drivers to deliver requested guest vehicles

  • Cleans and polishes carts and other equipment used in the department.

  • Answers phones and provides information as needed.

  • Reads and matches luggage tags, writes claim tickets and detaches portion to give to guest.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills:

  • Ability to listen, and communicate effectively.

  • Read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to communicate in Spanish helpful.

  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

  • Ability to push/pull cart/ table weighing up to 150 lbs.; grasp, lift to waist and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, and standing for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and solve customer concerns.

  • Ability to drive all types of vehicles with either standard or automatic transmission.

  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions in order to meet deadlines.

Qualifications Standards

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

No prior experience required.

License/Certificates:

Valid Texas Drivers License.

Clear driving record preferred
