• Knowledge of marketing and communication planning, strategies and techniques, assessment tools, and publication design standards and techniques.• Experience growing audiences on multiple social media feeds through well-planned and executed social media campaigns.• Familiarity with marketing tools such as Hootsuite and mass email marketing tools.• Project/process management skills to develop and implement a marketing and communications plan and to produce marketing and communication pieces.• Ability to set benchmarks and adjust communication approaches based on metrics.• Working knowledge of desktop and electronic publishing tools, Photoshop and other graphic design tools, and productivity tools.• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills including the ability to build and maintain relationships among colleagues to reach common goals.• Experience in conducting interviews and clearly communicating information in multiple formats for various audiences.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to prioritize simultaneous assignments and manage projects.• Familiarity with Associated Press and Chicago Manual of Style stylebooks.
• Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or related field.• Five years related work experience.• Experience working in a higher education environment.

The communications and marketing team, in Texas State University’s Information Technology Division, is looking for a marketing & promotions project coordinator who knows how to create detailed plans that lead to effective communication across multiple channels – including social media, video, web, email, and print.
Our team shares stories about divisional efforts to help Texas State students, faculty, and staff succeed. The ideal candidate would be a jack-of-all-trades marketing professional who can plan out meaningful and successful marketing campaigns and take the lead on making those plans a reality, particularly through use of social media. If you know the best and latest tips and tricks to build audiences through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, we’d love to hear from you.
ABOUTUS:The IT Division includes a diverse group of people who provide important and interesting services to the university’s students, faculty, and staff. You will work with the IT Marketing and Communications Coordinator and other communications and marketing professionals to craft messages about those people, and the services they provide, for consumption by audiences on- and off-campus. Our marketing and communications team recently won the Impact 2018 Award from the Internet Marketing Association for Best Non-Profit Campaign. We do quality work and take pride in being the best we can be.
ABOUTYOU:You have professional experience producing marketing and communication campaign plans and the accompanying communications – including social media posts, videos, news releases, feature stories, Web pages, photographs, etc., to be used in strategic communications, marketing and public outreach campaigns. You work well in a collaborative environment and seek to have everyone involved reach their goals. You are a motivated self-starter, a hard worker, and a team player.
• Produce project plans for marketing and communications projects that include detailed specific steps and measurable benchmarks and goals.• Produce high-quality communications on deadline.• Edit and review communications to ensure quality and consistency with the IT Division’s message in marketing and outreach goals.• Research issues and facts for use in communications projects and as a basis for development of communications policy.• Serve as project manager on communications projects and work with cross-functional teams to develop communications strategies.• Identify and contribute to strategies for communications.• Participate in cross-training activities, cross-departmental sharing of knowledge and, when appropriate, cross-departmental developmental assignments.• Collaborate effectively and efficiently, learning from others in different roles and different departments to expand knowledge and create better communications.
