Job Description

Manages the team responsible for providing technical security operation services at a system or enterprise level. Provides subject matter expertise in at least two operating systems and deep skills in two technical security focus areas. Remains current in leading security technology and introduces appropriate. Recognized as an effective collaborator internally and externally (with 3rd party resources or vendors). Mentors developing team members and assists them in deepening their skills or understanding of relevant issues and security options.

Position Criteria

  • Expert knowledge of functional area. Knowledge of HR responsibilities, budgeting/financial activities, business processes.

  • Develops budget and manages activities of a department, section, work group and/or project.

  • Full HR responsibility for direct and indirect reports.

  • Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.

  • Planning focus is on activities/projects within 6 months to 1 year.

  • Receives general business direction for departmental activities.

  • Decisions have significant impact on work group or department, may have impact on operating/business unit objectives.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or Computer Science degree or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years related experience; minimum 5 years prior management/supervisory experience preferred. Advanced computer software skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinate employees; proven leadership ability.

Daily Duties:

Develop and manage the security operations program responsible for the implementation of new security tools into physical and cloud data centers as well as the daily operations of security initiatives in support of the threat, vulnerability, compliance, and risk management teams. Initiatives include: advanced threat detection, data loss prevention, database activity monitoring, denial of service protection, email security, encryption, file integrity monitoring, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, proxy management, vulnerability scanning, secure file sharing, and web application firewall protection.

Administratively, manage a team of 5 Security professional’s day to day HR tasks and assist with leading the team in the common direction of the corporation.
