Job Description

Under general supervision, the Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in accounting close and SAP master data processes and perform system administration duties over Blackline. In this position, you will have the opportunity to partner with a diverse group that includes accounting, finance, treasury, tax, business systems (IT), and internal/external auditors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create / modify GL accounts and master data attributes in SAP based on approved request/help desk ticket, timely and accurately

  • Create / modify cost centers / nodes and profit centers in SAP based on approved request / help desk ticket, ensuring input accuracy, timely and accurately

  • Add FX rates monthly in SAP based on approved request/help desk ticket for specialty rates such as ZAIR (EUR/GBP), ZCWT, and ZPLN, ensuring input accuracy and timeliness.

  • Add FX rates in SAP, as needed, when automated daily or monthly FX rate job fails, timely and accurately

  • Execute steps to open/close posting periods for GL, sub-ledgers (AR/AP/fixed assets/project systems) for subsequent and close periods

  • Execute month-end close production jobs (depreciation, PS clearing, FX remeasurements) as/when directed

  • Execute month-end Blackline data load and provide GL data as needed

  • Execute annual fiscal year close steps – fixed asset module closing, fiscal year creation in plan/actual controlling version, set-up index tables for step 2 FX, update monthly variants for PS clearing job.

  • Identify and perform master data clean-up; identify root cause issues of master data problems and assist business partners to prevent future issues/road blocks

  • Maintain documentation / desk top procedures of areas of responsibility

  • Execute daily master data workflow of help desk requests for account extensions, blocking/unblocking

  • Execute and perform Blackline system administrator duties over reconciliations and tasks modules

  • Lead/support special projects and department initiatives

  • Assist with coordination of monthly close calendar

  • Execute ad hoc requests as directed by manager

  • Evaluate areas of responsibility for opportunities to streamline/standardize/gain efficiencies

  • 5+ years experience in S4 HANA/SAP FI-CO general ledger master data management (e.g internal orders, chart of accounts, GL accounts, cost/profit centers, fx rates, interco tables, SFSV, etc.), including strong knowledge of SAP master data files, structures and usage

  • 3+ years SAP FI-CO configuration experience and ability to demonstrate SAP FI-CO integration points with other modules

  • Solid understanding of financial close concepts and processes

  • Working knowledge /understanding of processes utilizing financial master data - accts. payable, accts. receivable, fixed assets, general ledger

  • General knowledge of US GAAP principles and internal control environments/SOX

  • Ability to demonstrate experienced computer skills, specifically experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)

General Skills:

  • Ability to achieve desired outcomes timely and accurately

  • Ability to respond to queries / troubleshoot questions from team members

  • Strong verbal / written communication skills

  • Experience working with global and cross-functional teams

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks


  • Bachelor's Degree or other 4-year Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field
