Appeals denials within the MCO’s timeframe if the authorization is returned. Responsibilities: * Submits authorization requests for all new clients and clients needing reauthorizations. * Tracks authorization denials and follows through the appeals process. * Submits appropriate documentation to physicians for their signature. * Verifies client’s Medicaid insurance eligibility. * Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One year of general office experience. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish Required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Works in an office environment; ability to work flexible schedule and extended hours; ability to travel locally and some exposure to inclement weather; possible exposure to toxic materials (i.e. toner). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
