Overview
Lakeside Hospital a collaboration between CHI St. Luke’s Health and a team of specialized physicians— focused on cardiology and interventional cardiology, sports medicine, orthopedics, including total joint replacement, and spine care—in The Woodlands community. As the only hospital in Montgomery County to offer sports medicine as a major service line, Lakeside Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care including diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT and nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities
The Woodlands Hospital
A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.
Position Summary:
Accurately analyzes and report all tests ordered by the Medical Staff in a timely manner to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs and results test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section’s Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting
Ensures that major automated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures
Performs required Quality Control procedures and Maintains records to ensure tests are being performed within control limits
Assists in evaluation of new procedures and equipment to provide the physician with the most current laboratory technology
Participates in opportunities for continuing education and/or teaching, training according to the Section Performance Standards to enhance technical skills
Responsible for inventory of supplies
Adheres to all regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Licensure/Certification:
Certification as a Medical Technologist – MT (ASCP), or MLS, or AMT, or NCA,
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate with others
Physical Requirements:
Walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, and bending – Up to 30% of time
Sitting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements – More than 50% of time
Standing – 30% - 50% of time
Lifting up to 50 lbs – Up to 30% of time
