Robert Half International Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant in The Woodlands, Texas

Description Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. How you will make an impact

  • Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

  • Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Strong time management skills preferred

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Gas Plants experience highly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Actual Variance Analysis

  • Practical knowledge of Process Improvement

  • Strong familiarity with financial modeling

  • Solid understanding of budgeting

  • Financial statement preparation experience

  • General familiarity with general ledger

  • Annual Financial Reporting experience

  • Adeptness in Hedging Strategies

  • Expertise in budget forecasting

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
