Tyson Foods Operations Associate - Timber Lake Farms, TX in Timpson, Texas
This entry level management position is responsible for learning all aspects of supervising within various areas of GP production and/or GGP production facility. This position will work under an experienced supervisor to gain the necessary training needed to lead teams of people to produce a high quality, safe product that meets customer specifications. This position will work with operation support departments and may require the holder to work various shifts during the training phase to learn additional facets of the operations. Other duties include ensuring that all product quality and safety processes are being followed consistently, promoting a safe work environment, and performing other responsibilities as needed. Candidate selected will be expected to be an active participant, complete all assignments, and achieve all training expectations to achieve optimal performance.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 3 yrs. of poultry experience preferred but not required. GP/GGP production experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Requires standard skills in spreadsheets and word processing. Prefer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Travel: Minimal to attend training.
Supervisory: Will vary per assignment.
Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must always be followed. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in all Cobb Farms/Hatcheries Biosecurity Standards.
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: When visiting facilities is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
During the current Pandemic (2020), all Team Members will be required to wear company issued facial coverings. Training will be provided to each Team Member specific to their job and their facility location in addition to signing an acknowledgement form they understand these expectations.
It is considered an essential function of each job for a Team Member to wear the company issued facial coverings. If a Team Member indicates they will not wear the mask, they will not be considered for the position in which they are applying or any position that requires the facial covering. If a Team Member has a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing the mask, Cobb will engage in an interactive process to determine whether a reasonable accommodation can be provided that addresses the safety concerns associated with the Pandemic and allow the Team Member to perform the essential functions of the job.
