Position Summary

The EH&S Specialist is responsible for the development, administration and supervision of all safety programs and activities required to safeguard the health and safety for each employee and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Catalent Cell and Gene Therapy is a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) service company dedicated to the industrialization and production of cell and gene therapy products for third parties. Our facilities enable cell and gene therapy companies to benefit from state of the art infrastructures and world-recognized experts, thus accelerating the arrival of cell and gene therapies on the market. We offer a complete solution from supporting early stage companies as well as providing development services, manufacturing capacities, in-house Project Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The Role

  • Oversees the development and implementation of environmental, safety and health programs and policies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.

  • Identify legal requirements and regulations affecting safety functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance, including preparing, recommending and maintaining safety related records and documents as required by law.

  • Develops and implements programs to ensure use and handling of hazardous materials are in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.

  • Coordinates safety, health and environmental training for new and existing employees.

  • Ensures incident investigations are performed timely and effectively to determine root cause and effective corrective and preventative actions.

  • Chairs and/or participates in environmental, safety and health committees and teams.

  • Detect, review and monitor safety problems and helps develop appropriate solutions or programs.

The Candidate

  • Minimum of one year of direct safety experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferably in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Business or Industrial Safety or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have demonstrated the ability to plan and coordinate work in a sufficient and organized manner.

  • Must have demonstrated the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships

  • Must be able to take initiative and organize workload with little or no direction

  • Must be certified in first-aid and CPR or be willing to be trained
