Texas Employer Direct Support Professional FT/PT in WICHITA FALLS, Texas
Purpose To support the company s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by providing direct care and support to individuals served promoting their health and safety and optimal well-being through the delivery of quality services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete training on the needs of all consumers staff is assigned to work with. Ensure consumer specific goals and objectives are followed and addressed. Work direct care shifts, as scheduled and required. Ensure safe storage and preparation of food in the homes. Ensure good health, hygiene, and groom of consumers. Complete and/or follow-up on the completion of documentation needed for consumer incidents, behavior tracking data sheets, accident reports, etc. Advocate on behalf of consumers, where appropriate. Report medical and/or behavioral incidents promptly. Ensure housekeeping is completed and cleaning checklists are filled out. Complete Residential Support Service (RSS) logs completely and accurately, and follow-up on corrections as needed. Provide transportation for consumers as needed. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Represent the company in a professional manner in dealing with consumers, family members, guardians, other agencies, and other outside professionals. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Physically able to perform the essential functions of the job as described in the essential duties and responsibilities sections including: walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, sitting, reaching overhead and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to safely lift, transport, and transfer consumers, which may include but not be limited to lifting and transferring in and out of a vehicle, bed or wheelchair, as appropriate and needed to assist with the consumer s assisted daily living skills. Qualifications Must have High School Diploma or equivalent or successful completion of competency exam with three (3) references. Must have the ability to deal tactfully with others, to exercise good judgment, to understand and follow written and oral instructions, and to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing. Special consideration given to applicant with previous experience working with individuals with disabilities. Maintain valid driver s license, meet all insurance requirements and be approved by management to be a driver. Must be able to successfully complete all required training. Must be 18 years or older due to insurance purposes.
